Shell Food

This past weekend we enjoyed a beautiful Sunday at LaJolla Shores with Uncle Dennis and Tia Rosella; not a cloud in the sky, sun shining, not too hot. Following a full afternoon of skim boarding, Frisbee throwing, and a little chilly-water play, we were hungry! Seafood sounded like a great dinner option after such a fun day...so Joe's Crab Shack it was. Yup, Don's found his taste for shellfish. The adults were excited about the steampots full of crab, shrimp, and (mine had) clams and mussels, too. Right away Isiah looked at his picture kids menu and decided on the ever popular Mac'n'Cheese with french fries. However...much to our surprise...after willing to try one of my mussels (without any hesitation) he wanted nothing more to do with his usual favorite. The boy continually requested more black and white things (preferring the black mussels), even denying butter on the shrimpies and crab he enjoyed. We seem to be developing quite a palette...next it's going to be Market Priced items ;) Tonight, the boy reminded me of the "shell food" and how "when you cook dem, dey open so you can eat dem...mmm..."

Glad to see you on the 'nets in another form other than myspace/facebook. ;) I've got a blog up and running too, although most of the time it's not as fun and interesting as little boys and the cute things they say. :) See you soon... coupla weeks! Thanks for sending me the link to this. :) :) :)
